Andy Green asked:

I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla with 150,000 miles on it. I take care of this car very well and changed the oil regulary, give it tune ups, on a regular basis, etc. However, during the past 2-3 months, I have noticed a drop in horse power and it doesnt seem to have the power it once did. I drive about 24 miles to work each way and usually got around 33-36 miles per gallon but now I get about 26-28. I took it to the garage and got another tune up and he changed the oxygen sensor (whatever that does) but it still seems to lack the horsepower it once had. This car struggles to stay around 55-60 during my daily commute and really struggles to go up hills. Before I take it to the shop again and drop $200-300 dollars again, does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Please help! Thanks.

Nathan

Both of us are in AA in recovery, he has 3.5 years, I have 21 months. I think he needs to go to day shift and get adequate sleep. We are hardly able to see each other because either he is sick, or one of his parents are! What if he is a workaholic? How do they act? He is recovering from mostly drugs, and is a very good person..his father was a workaholic…..
The cold he currently has is legit.

Emily

alli_potts asked:

I am considering a move to Arizona in a few months, but had a few questions for those who live there.

Silly Question 1) Since it is very hot, a friend told me that although I would be saving money on rent, I would be paying hundreds of dollars more on air conditioning. Now this person is my boss and she is trying to talk me out of moving, so I don’t know if she is trying to scare me, but does it really cost so much for air conditioning? I am planning on a one bedroom apartment. Right now I pay between $90-120 for utilities. Can anyone advise me if I will ‘really’ be paying so much more if I move to the Phoenix area.

2) I work in Advertising, and have a strong background in Direct Mail advertising. Anyone know what the job market is for Advertising jobs.

3) Chandler or Mesa? Or maybe some other town I don’t know about yet? I am looking for nice apartment in a quiet and safe neighborhood.

4) What is the daily commute into Phoenix like?

Thanks for your help.

Robert

Tim asked:

I am attending college about 20 minutes away from my house. Several responsible friends of mine have offered me a room in their house directly off of campus. I would like to accept, but my strict Machiavellan parents do not seem okay with the idea. We have not yet sat down to have a real discussion yet, and I am looking for some useful advice for the talk.
I am a pretty responsible guy. I have looked into some important aspects of the house we would be renting, and I have even found a well paying job on campus that would allow me to be without a car. Without a car, I would be able to easily afford rent, utilities, food ,and any other necessities without my parents paying a dime. I also have enough money saved up that I would not be living paycheck to paycheck. I would like to have every daily responsibility; school, work, and home, within walking distance. I feel my life now is very hectic with all the time I spend in my car driving everywhere.
My parents argument would be that it is a waste of money. At home I get free room and board, why would I want to actually pay for things. I do not have any idea how to argue that. From an completely objective standpoint, that makes perfect sense. Happiness is not practical to them, when money is involved.

Ryan

rafael t asked:

I have a 4.6L ‘01 F150 Super Crew and I need more towing power period, So it has to go. I used to use this truck for the daily commute and towing but I bought a new car (4cyl); so I need a 2dr. truck with more power (more towing capacity) but I don’t know what to get. The budget is less than 5K and I’ll be towing my race car witch is right about 2850Lbs + Tools + tires + trailer, it will be close to 6,000Lbs which is right at the limit my truck. I do not need anything new or nice but it has to be gasoline NO DIESEL, the reason why is because I don’t know anything about it, also as long as it has better towing capacity and has room for 2 people it’s all good. So please help me find the right truck for me. Your 2 cents will be appreciated
I was thinking of a ‘04 Silverado 2500HD 2dr. the one w/the 6.0L Vortez engine but it’s going over 6K but it should have 12,000Lbs rating. What do you guys think

Nicholas
