daily commute
Rebecca asked:

I believe that if I want to live with my husband it will have to be off post. He will be a Private and ineligible for base housing. We will have to be on a waiting list. I would want us to try to pick the safest areas but convienent both to the post for my husband’s daily commute (it would be nice if he could ride a bicycle to work), shopping and near the post clinic for myself and our son, and public transportation. I did a similar study for a project in a 10th grade class using census tracts. I used a scatter analysis which is a way to organize the data spatially. Unfortunately it “blew up” in my face. My dad even got in trouble. His Lieutenent (he’s a detective) called him in and was angry because they found out I went to the department of the city we live in (they must have called) and told them what I wanted. This is supposed to be public information but they refused to give me it. Jamie (my husband, bf then) told me it was a bad idea but I just smiled did it anyway.
To make this work I would need data on felony crimes such as murder, sexual offenses, robberies, domestic violence by address. I could use statistical methods to analyze the data. I love math and eventually plan to get a degree in math. I’m enrolled now in College Algebra but study math on my own just to relax. I would be a full time mom though living with my husband and baby.

I don’t know the name of the post yet or where it is located. He is still in training and has not received any military orders yet.

You have to be more specific as to the location your are moving to.

Some posts have less crime than others, it all depends on where they are located and what type of units are stationed there.
