Do you ever grow tired of the rat race that’s part of being a modern society?

Don’t get me wrong, I love my nation, but I grow weary of the daily commute, dealing with office politics, putting up with ever increasing municipal taxes, etc. While I’m really tempted to give up on the rat race and try my hand at being more self sufficient in the country, there’s always the concern if I will be able to provide well enough for myself and dependents.

I’m looking to buy my first motorcycle soon, and I was wondering what kind of bike I should get. I definitely want a cruiser, but since this is my FIRST bike, I don’t want something too big or to heavy. I’ll be using this bike for a daily 15-mile freeway commute, and an occasional ride to the lake with the guys. I’ve looked at the Honda Shadow and I like it, but I’m not sure what other models there are in the same class. Can any of you make some suggestions?

NICHOLAS IS FINALLY HERE!!! asked:
Is anyone else terrified of their water breaking too early or at a “bad time”. Sad to say this is my biggest fear even more than the process of giving birth lol. I live in Brooklyn so I commute during NYC transit daily. I am so terrified of giving birth on the train. How long do you really have after your water breaks tog et to the hospital? I know after 24 hrs there is a risk of infection….but I mean how long before do you have before the baby tries to come out

How do you prevent sexual harassment in overcrowded public places?

I have a female friend who commutes to work daily by rapid transit, she complaints that sexual harassment occurs quite frequently, especially during morning rush hours when the train is packed. How does one prevent sexual harassment in the future in public spaces?

EDIT: I’m not amused and very disappointed by some childish, wise-crack answers posted by some of the users, if you’re not mature enough to understand how sexual harassment is taking such a steep psychological toll on the victims, I suggest that you steer clear of spewing stupidity before you insult the victims as well as yourself.

I want a car for daily commute(35 miles one way) to my internship job, only for six months. What car makes and models i should look for within 2500$. How much I cud get on resale? Is it better to buy a 1000$ college car for 6 months? I am a first time buyer and no experience with cars. Thanks in advance.

I recently accepted a job offer (full time) that I thought I could handle. And by handle I meant the daily commute. I use to go to school at UCLA, love the area, but I lived there during schooling. After graduation I got a job around that area, but now i have to commute all the way back from Home. The commute is a little over 80 miles as i commute from *OC to LA. I am currently getting paid 12 dollars an hour and I am using a large chunk of the money just on gas. I spend nearly 3 hours everyday in traffic. I am thinking of giving my boss my two weeks notice next week. Any advice, guidance? thx

What, exactly, is the rule of the road in this situation?

porthuronbilliam asked:
When a sign is posted that a lane is ending, or there is a merge occurring down the road, what is the rule of the road. Should drivers get out of the lane and over as soon as possible or should the drivers in the “open” lane simply space themselves so the automobiles in the closing lane can conveniently merge at the end. Just curious as I encounter this “issue” daily on my work commute and am wondering which group of drivers is in the wrong (I’m pretty sure I know but I’ll wait for responses).
